8 Powerful Ways to Lean on God in Tough Times

by | Sep 10, 2025 | Faith, Faith Journey, Leaning on God, Strength, Surrender

1. Believe in God who designed you: “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” (Psalm 139:13-14 ESV)

2. Know that God is always by your side: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Deuteronomy 31:8 ESV)

3. Seek refuge and strength in Him: “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” (Psalm 46:1-3 ESV)

4. Let His power shine through your weakness: “For we are glad when we are weak and you are strong. Your restoration is what we pray for. For this reason I write these things while I am away from you, that when I come I may not have to be severe in my use of the authority that the Lord has given me for building up and not for tearing down.” (2 Corinthians 13:9-10 ESV)

5. Find comfort in His unfailing love: “Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.” (Psalm 119:76 ESV)

6. Praise Him for His goodness: “Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good.  for his steadfast love endures forever!” (Psalm 106:1 ESV)

7. Trust in His perfect plan for your life: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you and future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)

8. Recognize His sovereignty over all things: “For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.” (Romans 11:36 ESV)

So if you are going through a tough time, and most of us are, remember the 8 things above. This is just a bump in the road. Better days are coming. Just hang on.

Have a fabulous day, everyone.
