“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
(Psalm 34:18 ESV)
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
(Psalm 147:3 ESV)
I believe that everyone, at one time or another, has been brokenhearted. I know I have. I don’t like the way it feels either.
Google defines brokenhearted as, “Overwhelmed by grief or disappointment.”
Ask any mother if any of her kids have broken her heart. I imagine she would say yes, what with kids being kids. Kids can be cruel. They can break a mother’s heart quickly.
Kids aren’t the only ones who can break your heart. Friends and other family members can too.
Have you ever walked by a stranger and had them make a rude comment about you? Without even knowing you, they judged you, loudly, about your appearance. It hurts. Words can cause deep wounds that may never heal. Unless you let God heal them for you.
God can take your broken heart and heal it. He can take all the shattered pieces and put them back together again. Are you willing to let God heal your broken heart? Will you give Him the shattered pieces you are guarding and let Him fix it?
We don’t need to go this alone. God is ready, able and willing to fix our broken heart. He is ready to heal the scars left by random words. Give it to God today and let Him put the pieces back together again.
Have a blessed day everyone.
