“the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.'” (Rev 4:10-11 NIV)
I was just thinking.
I know, that is dangerous! Just bear with me.
I read or hear people all the time say stuff like . . .
“I can’t wait to get to Heaven!! I’ll just jump up and down, and shout and Praise the Lord!!! Everyone will be shouting, dancing and laughing etc…” Well, I was thinking about just that.
The first thought I had was Moses. When he asked God to show him HIS Glory. God told Moses He would let him see HIS BACK as HE passed by!! That to see HIS face, would kill him. Hummmm
Then it also says in the Word that no man can live, and see the Face of God.! Now, maybe I am all wrong here, but this was my thought.
If HIS Glory and Presence are so all consuming and we would die just to look upon HIM, then how could we assume we could stand and shout and Praise HIM upon arrival to Heaven?
Now, I know the Word says we have access to the very throne of God through Jesus. I am not disputing that. But I also know, in the Word in Revelation, it talks about the Elders before the throne. ALL they do is throw their crowns down at the feet of Christ and FALL on their faces!!! That is all they have or ever will do, for now anyway. So that brings me to my thinking and conclusion. Personally . . . I think when we finally come into the presence of the Living and Loving God we have come to Worship, we will NOT be able to do ANY THING at all . . . other than FALL on our faces and Worship Him!! IF we can even talk!! I don’t believe we will be jumping and laughing. I think we will be down on the floor as low as we can get at the feet of the Almighty Savior. Unable to talk, or anything else. Now personally for me . . . THAT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WHERE I WOULD LOVE TO SPEND ETERNITY!!! Right at the FEET of JESUS!!!
I once heard that the elders who fall to the floor have that happen for a really wonderful reason. This is what I heard:
Every time they stand, God takes just a microscopic piece of HIS love, and sends it their way! All they can do is Fall in the spirit of that microscopic taste of HIS full Love. Throw down their crowns at HIS feet and FALL!!! Now can you imagine that!!?? Just a small touch from God, does that to them every time over and over again. How will we be able to even think we will stand, when we are going to receive HIS FULL . . . (un-hindered by the flesh, as it is now because of our selves, not HIM) over flowing LOVE. I think NOT!!! Beloved, maybe we should begin to prepare now for then. I for one am going to place myself on the floor, at HIS feet more now!! Hey, that way it will be just a wonderful continuation of what I receive now already from Him, only MORE so!!! Besides, where else would we rather be?
