I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
(Psalm 121: 1-8 ESV)
As you read Psalm 121, think about it. Where does your help come from? You can’t depend on people for help. The only one you can depend on is God. God is the only one who will never let you down. He is the only one who truly has your best interest at heart. God doesn’t want your money, your home or car. He wants you. He wants your obedience. God has no use for material things. He only wants your heart.
If you are right with God, then all is right with the world. That is until the devil comes to try to derail you. And he will try. But if you are firmly rooted in God, then his plans will not succeed. You are the only one who can let the devil derail your walk with God. You are the only one who can prevent it too.
So choose wisely and often. Walking with God and His plan for your life is never a mistake. I ask you today. Where does your help come from? Mine comes from the Lord. I hope yours does too.
