What exactly is a promise?
According to Merriam-Webster, “A promise is a declaration or commitment to do, or refrain from doing, something specific.”
Has anyone ever promised you something and then didn’t do it? I think we have all experienced that at one time or another. But do you know who will never break a promise He made to you? Jesus! Jesus never breaks His promise. Jesus is unable to make a promise then break it. That just isn’t who He is. We all need to be like Jesus. We need to pattern our lives after Him.
So the next time you make a promise to someone, try to keep it. I know I will work harder to keep promises I make.
