“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
(John 1:9 ESV)
“Bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.”
(Colossians 3:13 ESV)
“And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.“
(Mark 11:25 ESV)
According to Oxford Languages, ashamed is: “embarrassed or guilty because of one’s actions, characteristics, or associations.”
If you have done something you are ashamed of or embarrassed by and who hasn’t, take it to God in prayer. Talk it over with God, ask His forgiveness. He will forgive you if you are really sorry. But if you are like one of my neighbors who throws out “sorry” and doesn’t mean it, keep praying until you really are. God knows we are going to make mistakes. He knows we will fail from time to time. He will forgive us.
God is in the forgiving business. He will give us a second chance, a do over. We can all use a do over. Remember, as kids, if we messed up in a game, we called a do over? Sometimes, we got that do over and sometimes not so much. But God will give us that do over. He will even help us if we just ask Him to. So next time you mess up and need a do over, just repent and ask God for help.
Have a fabulous day, everyone.
