Love Conquers All

by | Jul 28, 2024 | God's Love, Love

“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.”

(1 Corinthians 13:4-8 ESV)

“Let all that you do be done in love.”

(1 Corinthians 16:14 ESV)

According to Oxford Languages, love is, “an intense feeling of deep affection.” According to Oxford Languages,  conquers means “successfully overcome a problem or weakness.”

So what does love conquers all mean? I’m not sure myself. But here are my thoughts.

If you love someone, you forgive them when they have done something wrong. You love them through problems. In other words, love like Jesus loves. He loves unconditionally. Yes, I used present tense. Jesus still loves us.

Do you love unconditionally? Probably not. If someone does you wrong, do you still love them? Maybe, maybe not. That isn’t a thing that even crosses Jesus’s mind. It doesn’t even cross His mind to not love us when we mess up. So let’s see. We kind of love a little less when someone we love messes up. Jesus loves us all the time regardless of what we do.

Did you know Jesus loves you even if you walk away from Him? Now that’s real love. I want to be like Jesus. I want to love unconditionally all the time. Will I succeed? Hopefully, but probably not because I am not perfect like Him. So if I don’t show you unconditional love, remind me of the love Jesus shows.

Have a great day, everyone.
