Lean on Jesus

by | Sep 10, 2023 | Submission, Surrender

“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him, who has no might, he increases strength. Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

(Isaiah 40:28-31 ESV)

I was on my way to church yesterday. I had the radio on. I was listening but not really listening. I was kind of in my own little world. A song was playing, but Jesus jolted me and said listen:

“I’m leaning on Your everlasting arms.
So close to You that I can hear Your heart.
Nothin’ else can separate me from Your love.
I’m leaning on Your everlasting arms.”

(Everlasting Arms by Mac Powell)

Jesus knows I am going through some things. He reminded me to lean on Him. He will take care of me. There’s another song I love. Leaning on the Everlasting Arms:

“What have I to dread, what have I to fear,
Leaning on the everlasting arms;
I have blessed peace with my Lord so near,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.
Leaning, leaning,
Safe and secure from all alarms;
Leaning, leaning,
Leaning on the everlasting arms.”

(Leaning on the Everlasting Arms by Anthony Johnson Showalter and Elisha Hoffman)

There’s nothing to fear, nothing to dread when you lean on those everlasting arms of Jesus.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
