“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:6-7 ESV)
“Casting all your anxieties on he cares for you.”
(1 Peter 5:7 ESV)
My church is coming into the 21st century. I am glad but it was a bit stressful for me because I had a new computer program to learn. I proved to myself that you can teach an old dog new tricks. With the very patient help from a friend and a lot of praying on my part, I learned the program. I still have more to learn, but I was actually comfortable running it yesterday morning.
God lets us go through stressful situations to teach us to lean on Him for help. He lets us go through these stressful situations to teach us patience. God lets us go through stress, but He also has a way out for us. He never gives us more than we can handle.
Oh, I know what you are thinking. God gives you a lot, sometimes more than you can handle. But that isn’t true. I saw a Ziggy cartoon once that said, “God never gives me more than I can handle. I just wish He didn’t trust me with so much.” I thought that was a good way to think. If God didn’t trust you, He wouldn’t give you so much. So if you think you are stressed, just spell it backward and go have a piece of cake. Because stressed spelled backward is desserts.
Have a fabulous day, everyone.
