“For the body does not consist of one member but of many.”
(1 Corinthians 12:14 ESV)
“For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.”
(Romans 12:4-5 ESV)
There’s a saying, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder.” While that may be true, absence from the body of Christ is not good. We are all a needed part of the body. Each one of us has a part to play in the body. When a person is absent from church, it is very apparent. You are a needed part of the body. When you’re gone, you are missed.
I can’t speak for others but when I am not in church, I miss it. I am a part of that body and while they go on without me, I am a missing part. When I do miss church, I feel disconnected. We need to surround ourselves with fellow believers.
We need to share what we have with others while they share with us what they have. It’s not mandatory that you attend church but it’s gotten so easy to just watch the service online so you stay home. What if God was going to use you to impart something to someone and you weren’t there to give it.
Sure, God can and does use someone else. But think for a moment. God wanted to use you in the service but you stayed home. Do you think you are disappointing God? I think so, just my opinion. I don’t ever want to disappoint God. I love Him too much. I know that He will forgive me but why do it in the first place.
So I encourage you to surround yourself with fellow believers. Let God use you to deliver His message.
Have a great day everyone.
