Fellowship

by | Oct 30, 2022 | Body of Christ, Relationship, Unity

“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up! Again, if two lie together, they keep warm, but how can one keep warm alone? And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.”

(Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 ESV)

“Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.”

(Proverbs 27:17 ESV)

You know two is better than one. We all need each other. I live alone but most of the time I enjoy company. And yes, drop in company is always welcome.

Google defines fellowship as, “Friendly association, especially with people who share one’s interests.” That explains what fellowship is but why do we need fellowship?

Ephesians 4:3 says, “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace”  Fellowship builds unity. Have you noticed that when a member of the church is missing, it seems like part of the family is missing. Something just isn’t right. We need each other to build each other up in the ways of God, build each other up in the spirit. When we don’t do that, we aren’t running on all cylinders. God created us to need each other. He didn’t create us to go it on our own all the time. Fellowship with believers create a sense of harmony, a sense of peace. We could all use that.

Fellowship with one another is good but fellowship with God keeps us sharp. So let’s all start to fellowship with each other. Encourage each other and build them up instead of trying to tear them down.

Have a great day everyone.
