“I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee…”
(Luke 15:18 KJV)
Dearly beloved and friends, every man on earth is prone to mistakes at one time of the other. To deviate from correct pathways is not desirable but sometimes inevitable. The beauty of life however, is to fall and not remain fallen. You must rise and keep rising everyday!
- “But the path of the just is as the shining light, That shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” (Proverbs 4:18 KJV).
- “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 3:18 KJV).
- “Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.” (Micah 7:8 KJV).
The great question we want the Lord to help us with this today, is: “Where did I miss it and how do I stay focused henceforth?”
Examples of those who fell and got up:
- King David: Displeased God because of evil dealings with Bathsheba, he repented and was forgiven by God (See 2 Samuel 12:13).
- Peter: He denied Jesus thrice but the mercy of God stabilized him (See John 21:15-16).
- Prodigal son: He came to himself and turned back home and was forgiven (See Luke 15:20).
- Joseph’s brothers: At the fulness of time they were greatly troubled and regretted their evil acts against Joseph (See Genesis 45:3,15).
- YOU: Stop giving excuses. Return today and let God give you a fresh start (See Isaiah 1:18).
What to do:
- Examine your life and be true to yourself.
- Stop going in circles, repent and move forward
- Be personally determined to go God’s way.
- Deliberately cut off from paths of error.
- Ask for grace to live and stay right.
- Be a light and beacon to raise others up.
Main Prayer Point: In Jesus name. Amen: Father, take me back, dear Lord, to place where I first received You; and set my feet upon the Rock to stay.
ARISE AND LET GOD HOLD YOUR HAND.
