“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”(Isaiah 41:10 ESV)
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”(John 16:33 ESV)
Tough times come and go. It’s how we handle those times that count the most. While reading a book on joy last night, they told the story of Horatio Spafford. He sent his wife and 4 daughters on a ship to England. The ship sank. His daughters all drown. He received a telegram from his wife that said, “Saved alone!”
To lose 1 child would be hard enough but to lose all your children at once would be devastating. On the return voyage, about where the ship sank is where it’s believed he wrote the song It Is Well With My Soul.
How about you? Is it well with your soul? Are problems dragging you down? Has life thrown you a curve ball? Then give those problems to Jesus. Let Him take them and carry you for awhile.
“When peace like a river attendeth my way.It Is Well by Horatio Spafford
When sorrows like sea billows roll.
Whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.”
It is well with my soul. How about you? If not, rest in the arms of Jesus. Let Him take care of you.
Have a blessed day.
