“For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.” (2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV)

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10 ESV)

Google defines control as “to command, restrain or manage.”

Tenth Avenue North sings the song, “Control”. Below is the part I really like:

“God You don’t need me
But somehow You want me
Oh, how You love me
Somehow that frees me
To open my hands up
And give You control
Oh, You want me
Somehow You want me
The King of Heaven wants me
So this world has lost it’s grip on me.”

Isn’t it nice to know God wants us? He really wants us. It’s not that He needs us because he has scores of angels to keep Him company. But he wants us! Let that sink in. God wants us!

Go back and read the definition of control. It’s to command, restrain or manage. Does anyone try to control you? How do react to it? Probably not very well. I don’t. But you know what? I give total control of my life over to God. I give him permission to meddle in my life all He wants. I don’t say that to a lot of people. But I say it to God right now. I tell God right now, “Take me Lord. Command me, restrain me, especially my mouth, and manage me. Lord lead me. Show me where I need to be and what I need to do. Use me Lord.”

Is that your prayer too? Do you want God to use you? He needs warriors here fighting for the kingdom of heaven. Buckle up. The next few months could get bumpy. Put on your armour and come out fighting!
