Dear Friends in Christ, I have been pondering a lot about why is it that many Christians leave the Lord after having a beautiful experience of receiving His precious gift of salvation.
One of the things I see happening is that we are not taking our thoughts captive to the obedience of the Lord. Many times, saints will give too much thought to much of the mess this world is in and the evil occurring in this world. When we think too little of what God says in His Word, we start to fill our thoughts with questioning God. Why? When this starts to occur, doubts of Gods Word start infiltrating our thoughts and if left unattended, we start to have unbelief.
When we start to question Gods love for us, we have to stop and reflect upon His love for us by remembering when He lived a life leaving His glorious Kingdom to humble himself to come in the world in human flesh. He was acquainted with grief and sorrow. He was slain many times, denied by His family and His followers when He hung on the Cross. He suffered the greatest pain, agony and humiliation of anyone of the death He willingly took on our behalf. We need to remember these things which we will undoubtedly know that He does love us.
The devil will try anything to get our thoughts off of God. We do need to know what is happening in the world, but we cannot let it consume us so much that we lose our focus on the real issue, “Being Worshippers of Christ”. We need to remember not to question God, but realize that all the corruption in this world is taking place because they have forsaken God.
It is the same with the Churches, where many people leave the Church because they have put their Priest, Minister or Pastor on a pedestal instead of having Christ Himself who is the only One who is worthy to be on that pedestal because only He is perfect. When all others fail, He never fails. Christ wants you to be so close to Him because He is the only One who can take your burdens and cares for He careth for you. “Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” (Mt 11:28-30).
When we fill our minds with God and His love, we are filled with His peace, gladness of heart and joy inexpressible and full of glory. The world in all its richness will ever satisfy the soul God is able to do if you are willing to let Him. Be encouraged!!
Love to you in Christ.
