Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
(John 14:27 ESV)
You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
(Isaiah 26:3 ESV)
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
(John 16:33 ESV)
What is peace? According to vocabulary.com, “Peace is a stress-free state of security and calmness that comes when there’s no fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom. In our war-torn world, it seems like there’s not nearly enough peace. However peace can be big and small, seen in entire countries or brief moments.”
Do you have peace? I do most of the time. There are some times I get stressed. But I think we all do sometimes.
Wouldn’t you like to live in a world that is at peace? No wars, no killings or strife anywhere. I would like a world like that. But sadly, we don’t live in that kind of world. So what can we do about it? I don’t think we can do much about it. The devil is mad and is pulling out all the stops. He wants a world full of strife, bitterness and anger.
We can fight against the devil. We have the God given power to fight him. We need to fight with everything in us. We need to ask God to give us His peace. There is nothing sweeter than the God given kind of peace.
The next time things press in and you want to give up, take a deep breath and ask God to send you His peace.
Have a great day, everyone.
