“Submit yourselves, therefore, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”
(James 4:7 ESV)
“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.”
(1 Peter 5:8-9 ESV)
Have you ever had to have an exterminator to get rid of pests? I have. They go away for a while but then try to come back.
That’s how the devil is. You can stand against him, and he leaves, but he comes back. And usually with more of his demons. Demons are like cockroaches. They are sneaky and disgusting creatures. They can be hard to get rid of, too.
We have an excellent exterminator who will help us clear out the demons. But there’s a catch. We have to want to get rid of them, and once we do, we have to keep standing against them. Once you get rid of them, just like roaches, they will try to come back. But if we call on our expert exterminator, Jesus, for help, we can clean house.
But if you drop your guard and they come back, they bring friends who are stronger and will set up house and start causing problems. So I suggest that once you clean out the demons, fill yourself with the Holy Spirit so you have a strong weapon to fight with.
Have a great day, everyone.
