“For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit.“
(1 Corinthians 14:2 ESV)
“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.“
(Acts 2:4 ESV)
Ever have one of those nights where you just can’t sleep no matter how hard you try? It seems like that is how this week has been for me. I finally gave up on sleep and started praying. Finally, I was to go back to sleep. I asked God who I was supposed to pray for. He just said to pray. So, I started praying in tongues for a while. I still don’t know who or what I was praying for, but God does, and that is all that matters.
I have a scooter. I am able to get out more and go places. While on my to the Dollar Store yesterday afternoon, God said to pray. So as I puttered on, I prayed in tongues. Again, I have no idea for who or what. But I learned that when God says pray, I need to drop what I am doing and pray. It doesn’t matter to me why, just that I am obedient.
Praying has been hard for me before because I never knew how to pray. It seemed like I kept saying or asking for the same things. But since I have been praying in tongues, it doesn’t seem like I am repeating myself in every prayer. I may not know what I am saying, but sometimes God reveals what I have prayed for. Sometimes, He tells me something I need to know.
To me, it doesn’t really matter what I am saying in tongues, just that I am praying. I get so thrilled when God tells me things.
So keep praying. And have a good day, everyone.
