Teach Your Children Well

by | Sep 7, 2022 | Family, Parenting

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

(Proverbs 22:6 ESV)

“Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.”

(Ephesians 6:4 ESV)

School is about to start again. It’s time to make sure your kids are ready. By ready I don’t mean new clothes and school supplies. I mean manners and attitudes. Teach your children to respect others, not just their teachers and supervisors. Teach them to respect kids.

No two kids are alike. Each have their own personality. Don’t teach your kids it’s alright to make fun or bully others. Kids come in all shapes and sizes. Some kids find it fun to make fun of kids that are different. I know of kids that like to pick on the quiet kid. They think that quiet kid is stupid because they won’t fight back. Little do they realize that person is way smarter than they are. That quiet kid spends time studying and is always on the honor roll.

Teach your kids to report bullying not to fight the bully. Teach your kids to be aware of their surroundings. To take their eyes off their phones and be aware when they are out somewhere. Teach your children to protect themselves but to love Jesus. Jesus is a very needed part of everyone’s life, especially in kids. Teach them young to love the Lord and they will grow up to be responsible adults. Get the word into them while they are still are young. It will stick with them better.

Say a prayer for your kids before they go school. Speak protection over them and tell them you love them.

Have a great day everyone.
