“But now, O LORD, thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; and we all are the work of thy hand.”
(Isaiah 64:8 KJV)
Dearly beloved and friends,no matter who you are or the position you attain in life; there should be someone who can call you to order and whom you can listen to and revere.
That person is referred to as your “Pressure Point”. He/She could be your parent or highly revered servants of God with proven integrity. However, the Ultimate Pressure Point of our lives is the Lord God Almighty. He calls the shots and we must comply unreservedly.
Why do you need a “Pressure Point”?
- It is a covering in days of trouble (See Psalm 27:5).
- It is a check over our lives (See Jeremiah 3:4).
- It make us humble & teachable (See 1 Peter 5:6).
- It is your safety valve in life (See Proverbs 22:28).
- It prevents undue vulnerability (See 1 Cor. 10:12).
Examples:
- Moses was the pressure point for Joshua (See Deuteronomy 34:9).
- Elijah was the pressure point for Elisha (See 2 Kings 3:11).
- Jesus was the pressure point for Pete (See Matthew 16:18).
- Paul was the pressure point for Timothy (See 1 Timothy 1:2).
- YOU: Prayerfully go for a Pressure Point today (See 1 Corinthians 11:1).
What to do:
- Consider your position as a privilege and submit to someone who can be a check on your ministry, activities etc.
- Your ultimate attention should be for the Holy Spirit, our paracletus (advocate/helper).
- Remember, your position and societal status are very transient, take life easy; sooner or later you will leave the stage for others.
- Always remember, you will give account of your stewardship to the “Ultimate Pressure Point” – The Creator and Owner of your soul.
Prayer Points — In Jesus name:
- Father, thank You for being my Guide and Shepherd and Lord.
- Father, don’t let me be self-conceited in any area of my life, so I don’t get truncated in life.
- Father, don’t let me be impervious to Your correction and leading in life and ministry.
