Who Are You?

by | Mar 27, 2025 | Identity

“You are adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore, whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

(James 4:4 ESV)

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

(Romans 12:2 ESV)

Thought For the Day: “Everyone comes into our lives for a reason: some for good, some for bad. They shape us, they form us. Some may break us. But in the end, they make us who we are today.”

Do you believe the above statement? Do you believe people can change  another person?

I do believe we can be influenced by others. I know because I speak from experience. There was an incident in my distant past where a “friend” went around town bad mouthing me. I became a recluse. I went to work and then stayed in unless there was an ambulance call. This went on for several months. It was resolved after I sent her a condolence card after her son died. Then, when I happened to run into her, she was pleasant. Her actions defined me for several months. What I should have done was go to her and talk it out. I still don’t know what I did.

I was changed again when I went back to Jesus. Everyone I met in whichever church I was in helped shape the person I am today. Jesus searched for me until I found Him. Yes, I said He searched until I found Him. Not a mistake. Jesus will search for you until He finds you. But you have to be ready to follow Him completely. Jesus wants all of you, not just the Sunday morning and a week night. He wants a total commitment, but if you are only willing to give a little, Jesus will take that. He will work with whatever you are willing to give Him. He will take a little and start to build on it.

So who are you?

Have a great day, everyone.
