Something Better

by | Sep 26, 2024 | Uncategorized

“There is no one greater than the Lord. No nation is greater than Him; He is the God over all.”

(Isaiah 40:17 NIV)

“The Lord is supreme over all the nations; his glory reaches to the skies. No one is like the Lord our God, who rules from heaven, who bends down to look at the skies and the earth.”

(Psalms 113:4-6 NIV)

“Can you compare me to anyone? No one is equal to me.”

(Isaiah 40:25-26 NIV)

Are you looking for something better? Are you expecting something better than what you have?

It depends on what you are expecting. But if you are expecting something better than God, stop looking. There is nothing better than God. God is good all the time. He is always with us. He is always willing to help us and forgive us. So, what or who can be better than God? No one and nothing is better.

I know there are tons of different religions and Christian denominations put there. I was raised as a Pentecostal. Old time Pentecost, to be exact. I have also gone to other churches. No, I wasn’t church shopping. I went to a First Baptist church a couple of times with my aunt. It was ok but not home. I went to a Presbyterian church for a wedding and knew that wasn’t what I was looking for either.

When I gave my life to God as a child, no one followed through to see I was totally committed. Someone should have. I might not have left church for almost 30 years. The church I go to now is home. I don’t go every time the doors are open, but I do go. That is the church I finally fully gave my life to God in and was filled with the Holy Spirit.

I want to encourage you to find a church where you are not just a warm body filling a seat. But a place where the members take time to actually get to know you.

I hope you can find a church to call home. I hope you are  comfortable there and everyone gets to know you. Better yet, I hope you get to know God. There really isn’t anything or anyone better.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
