Amazing Praising

by | Jan 26, 2024 | Praise

“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.

(James 5:13 ESV)

“Through him, then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”

(Hebrews 13:15 ESV)

“Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord!

(Psalm 150:6 ESV)

It’s really amazing how far a little praise goes. Lifting up praise to God changes the whole atmosphere. God wants us to praise Him. He wants us to know that by praising and thanking Him for things can move mountains.

Do you have a mountain in your way? Start praising God and thanking Him, and little by little, that mountain will move out of your way. But once it does start moving, don’t stop praising.

According to google, praise is “something regarded as impressive or worthy of respect.” Another definition is “respect and warm approval.”

How do you feel when someone praises something you did or made? It makes me feel pretty good. Now, how would you feel if you had the weight of the world on your shoulders and all you ever heard was grumbling and complaining? Think about how God feels. So a little praise and thank you can go a long way.

Next time you want to snap at your kids or the checker who is taking forever, put yourself in their position. Then give a kind word of praise or a smile and a thank you. Everybody has problems. Some are just better able to hide them than others. It is getting easier for me to push my problems down. But just a kind word, a hug, or even just a smile can defuse a tense situation. So next time you feel like exploding on someone, put yourself in their position. Then put on a smile, and give them a kind word of praise or thanks.

Have a great day, everyone.
