There Is Something About Trust

by | Jan 20, 2024 | Trust

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. He will bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday.”

(Psalm 37:4-6 ESV)

“And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.”

(Psalm 9:10 ESV)

Have you ever had to totally trust someone? What about a surgeon about to cut into your body?

I have had times in my life when things seemed bad, but I put my trust in God, and He took care of it for me.

According to google, trust is a “firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability, or strength of someone or something.”

I drive a fairly old car. Every time I get in it, I trust it gets me from point a to point b and back again. Sometimes, it won’t. Do I not trust it anymore? No. It just needed some work done. When I trust God for something and it doesn’t come, do I stop trusting God? Of course not. God doesn’t always say yes to everything. Or the timing may not be right, and if I just wait, I may get better than what I asked for. God doesn’t always say yes to our prayers, but that doesn’t mean you stop trusting Him to provide, heal, or whatever.

Trust is a two-way street. When I was working on the ambulance, my partner had to trust me as much as I had to them. God has to know He can trust us to do His will as much as we have to trust He will take care of us. So next time you ask God for something, put your trust in His word.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
