Jesus is returning to the Father. But for this brief moment of peace He speaks to the Father in this world, in the hearing of His disciples.
“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” (Psalm 23:5 ESV)
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing so that by the power of the Holy Spirit, you may abound in hope.” (Romans 15:13 ESV)
Have you ever felt worn down by life? Felt like you had been run over by a truck? I have felt that way lately. I feel empty. My prayer right now is to fill my cup, Lord. I’m running on empty.
Life has a way of getting a person down. But we have an escape route. We just don’t always use it. That escape route is Jesus. Jesus is ready to come to the rescue. He will come and fight for us. Jesus is the answer to any and every problem. He has the solution to everything that may trouble us. Jesus is here and ready to take on our enemies. He will fight our battles for us.
“Lord, I ask right now for you to fight this battle I am going through. I ask that you take this out of my hands and put it in yours. Lord, I am tired of fighting, I am running on empty. Fill me up, Lord. I need a refreshing.”
There’s a song we used to sing a lot when I was growing up. It’s called, “Showers of Blessings”:
“There shall be showers of blessing;
Send them upon us, O Lord!
Grant to us now a refreshing;
Come, and now honor Thy Word.” (Showers of Blessings by James McGranahan
Grant me a refreshing oh Lord. I need your showers of blessings right now. If you need a refreshing, reach out to Jesus today. Ask for a refreshing. He will grant it to you.
