Faith

by | Jan 26, 2022 | Faith, Trust

“And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.” (Matthew 21:22 ESV)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (2 Corinthians 5:7 ESV)

Yesterday as I was marking my Bible with the scriptures for church. A scripture jumped out at me. “Oh ye of little faith”.

I got to thinking about it. Is my faith where it should be? I don’t think so. For example, Saturday night I had a health issue. I wasn’t scared but I was concerned. But my first thought was not pray and stand against it. But to call others for prayer. Which is exactly what I did. But during that time, one of the prayer warriors was lead to pray about certain issues. She shared it with me. Those two issues hadn’t crossed my mind. So maybe my faith led me to call for prayer so I would know what to do.

Google defines faith as, “A complete trust or confidence in someone.” So where is my faith? I totally trust God with every aspect of my life. True or false? For me, I have to say false. But I am only human, able to fail. I admit it. There are things I try to handle on my own instead of letting God have them. So does that mean I don’t trust God to handle things for me

Absolutely not. I trust Him completely.

I have learned, the hard way, to give everything to God and let Him take over. It’s so much easier.

God’s way is so much better than mine. He speaks a word and peace reigns.

The word faith appears 336 times in the Bible. Do you think they had issues with it too? To be written that many times must mean God wants us to have faith in Him. So it must be very important to Him.

So where is your faith today? Is it strong? Or does it need work? Take inventory and check out your faith today.

Have a blessed day everyone!
