You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
(Psalm 16:11 ESV)
What is joy to you? According to AI Overview, “Joy is a deep and intense emotion of great happiness, delight, or pleasure, or a person or thing that brings about such a feeling.” Joy to me is family and friends and a few of my neighbors. Joy is something we all need to have and keep.
Life comes and beats us down, trying to steal our joy. Kids get crazy, finances get too tight or a sickness hits. All can steal your joy if you let it. Thinking back on the past month or so, there were a lot of things that could have stolen my joy. Even while laying on the floor a couple nights after surgery, bleeding, waiting for the ambulance, I could have easily lost my joy. But I didn’t.
Jesus was there with me. He made sure I didn’t lose my joy. He sent friendly paramedics that didn’t get mad when my legs would not hold me. They didn’t get mad when they got my blood on them. So has something happened to make you lose your joy? Look up, Jesus is there waiting for you to ask for help. So ask.
Have a great day.
