For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Matthew 6:14-15 ESV

Are You Holding a Grudge?

What is a grudge? According to AI Overview, “A grudge is a persistent feeling of resentment, bitterness, or anger harbored toward someone because of a past real or perceived wrong, insult, or injury.”

Are you holding a grudge against someone? If you are, I suggest you let it go, repent and move on. I had to. I didn’t realize I was holding a grudge against someone until after church yesterday. I knew I was not very happy about this person but didn’t realize it was actually a grudge I was holding against this person.

What do you do when you realize you are holding a grudge? First off, repent then let the grudge go. It will only lead to bitterness if you hold onto it. As I thought about it last night, I realized that I was also holding bitterness against this person. As the evening went on, I was becoming more bitter against this person. I repent Lord! Help me to let go of this grudge and bitterness.

I want to encourage everyone to search your heart. Are you holding a grudge against someone? If you are, repent and let it go. You don’t have to tell the person but you can if you want. I choose not to because this person would take offense at it because according to her she is never wrong.

Just a little something to think about as you go about your day.

Have a blessed day.
