“Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.”
(Romans 12:16-18 ESV)
“Finally, all of you have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”
(1 Peter 3:8 ESV)
I was reading Portals of Prayer. One of my prison ministry pen pals sent it to me. The one on the 5th was called, “One Heart.” It talked about getting along with others and living in harmony.
That is a hard thing to do sometimes. no one wants to be wrong. But we all are at one point or another. But we also should not blow things out of proportion.
And don’t drag others into your problems unless that person is a trained professional counselor or maybe referee.
I am getting to the point in my life that I don’t need or want the drama.
The last paragraph says this:
“With one heart, our God strengthens us to forgive, to set aside pride, and to forge forward as one, carrying to the world the pure message of the cross, the empty tomb, and a love big enough for all of us.”
From Portals of Prayer
My prayer today is that we, as Christians, show love to one another. That we stretch out a hand of friendship and love instead of anger and hatred. Lord, keep us humble and gracious. Help us to put others first. Teach us to live in unity. Something to think about. There is so much hatred and strife already in the world without us adding more. Let’s add peace and harmony and see what life can be like then.
Have a wonderful day, everyone.
