“For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ.”
(Romans 5:17 ESV)
“The enemy came to an end in everlasting ruins; their cities you rooted out; the very memory of them has perished. But the Lord sits enthroned forever; he has established his throne for justice, and he judges the world with righteousness; he judges the peoples with uprightness.”
(Psalm 9:6-8 ESV)
What does it mean to reign? According to google, it is “the period during which a sovereign rules.”
God reigns in heaven. So that means He rules. God rules. Yes, He does. God is also a judge. He judges us every day. He decides if our actions are right or wrong. If we have done wrong, He will gently nudge us toward repentance. It’s our job to listen to Him and repent. He is the one who gave us the guidelines to follow. Remember the Bible? That’s our guidebook. Read it sometime. There are a lot of people out there who need a refresher course.
But even though God reigns Supreme, He still loves us enough to send help to us. He sends angels to help guide us and provide comfort. And who can’t use comfort and guidance right now? God is our ultimate support. He is always there for us. He is always watching out for us. Even when we can’t feel Him close, He is right there. What other king will do that? What king will leave the 99 to go look for the one who strayed away? None but our King.
So, have you strayed away? God reigns. He will look for you until the end of time, searching for you, pleading for you until your last breath. What king will do that. Only our King will!
Have a great day, everyone.
