Walls

by | Mar 4, 2024 | Deliverance

“All these were cities fortified with high walls, gates, and bars, besides very many unwalled villages.”

(Deuteronomy 3:5 ESV)

“By faith, the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled for seven days.”

(Hebrews 11:30 ESV)

Google defines walls as “something that acts as a barrier or defense.” Did you know we can build walls in our life?  Walls can be built to keep things in or out. But we also have spiritual walls that do the same thing.

I was out and about yesterday and halfway listening to the radio. My mind was on what bills needed paid today. A song was playing, and the word walls caught my attention. God said this is your topic for tomorrow. So I contemplated on it. Yeah, I know big word. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized I have walls. There are things in my life I don’t want others to know. There are things I would prefer God not know, but that is impossible.  He knows everything because He wrote the book of my life long before I was even thought of.

But then why do I have these walls? I think I believe they are protecting me. But they aren’t. They are hindering me from the things God has for me. So, how do I break down these walls?  So I did some research and found this. “Once you recognize the stronghold, the next step to bringing it down is repentance. Be honest before God, and humbly let the Spirit expose the stronghold in the darkness.” So I encourage you today to examine yourself. Do you have spiritual walls? Maybe it’s time to break them down and let God shine through.

Have a blessed day, everyone.
