“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, ‘For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”
(Romans 8:35-37 ESV)
“And I looked, and behold, a white horse! And its rider had a bow, and a crown was given to him, and he came out conquering and to conquer.”
(Revelation 6:2 ESV)
We sing a song at church, “More than Conquerors”:
“We are more than conquerors.
More Than Conquerors by Ralph Carmichael
We’re overcomers in this life.
We’ve been made victorious
through the blood of Jesus Christ.”
What is a conqueror?
According to google, a conqueror is “a person who conquers a place or people.”
I haven’t conquerored a place or people, so why am I considered a conqueror? Because I am conqueroring the devil. I fight the devil every day. He doesn’t like me but that’s ok. I don’t like him either.
The devil likes to come after people who are doing the will of God. I’m am working daily to the best of my ability to do the will of God. That’s all we can really do. Try our best every day. We will fall short from time to time, and that’s when the devil comes full force. When he sees that we may be discouraged about something, he will plant a little thought in our head and then blow it up to giant proportions.
Have you worried because you thought someone was mad or upset at you? Only to find they were fine. The devil planted a thought in your head and let you stew for a while, then came to stir the pot a bit. Watch your thoughts. If it doesn’t sound right, it probably isn’t. Put the devil on alert. Don’t let him disrupt your walk with God. Guard your thoughts, actions, and words. Work on being a conqueror every day. It’s work, but it’s worth it.
Have a great day, everyone.
