Being Thankful

by | Aug 12, 2023 | Blessings, Gratitude, Thankfulness

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

(1 Thessalonians 5:18 ESV)

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise! Give thanks to him; bless his name!”

(Psalm 100:4 ESV)

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.”

(Colossians 4:2 ESV)

“Giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

(Ephesians 5:20 ESV)

According to Ottawa University, “Being thankful involves feeling and expressing appreciation for people and things in your life. In positive psychology research, gratitude is strongly and consistently associated with greater happiness. Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships. People feel and express gratitude in multiple ways.”

People will ask what you are thankful for. I don’t know your answers, but I do know mine.

First, I am thankful God took a job that I loved away from me. It brought me back to church and a close walk with Him.

Second, I am thankful that I am feeling better. I’m still not back to 100%, but I’m getting there with God’s help.

Third, I have a car. It may not be the prettiest, but it runs and gets me to point A to point B and back again.

Next, I am thankful for everyone who prays for me and checks up on me. I am thankful for my family, biological, adopted, and church. You all mean a lot to me, and I love each of you.

But most of all, I am thankful I have a loving Father in heaven who  watches out for me and is continuously stretching me and bringing me out of my comfort zone.

I can’t say this enough, God loves us and always will. He protects us and provides for us. I am thankful for each of you. You’ve touched my life in different ways.

Have a great day, everyone.
