“The Lord repay you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge!”
(Ruth 2:12 ESV)
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns, and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God.“
(Colossians 3:16 ESV)
My mom always told me you don’t appreciate what you have until it’s gone. Those words rang true for me this past weekend.
We had a storm blow through Saturday evening. The storm had 70 mile an hour straight winds. It took a lot of trees and limbs down and took out the power, too. But of course, along with the power, it took the internet. It has been a long, hot couple of days. I won’t go into the nights. But one good thing is that it opened up more time to spend with God. I prayed more, especially for the power and internet to come back on. But also for the protection of the people working nonstop to restore it. It was finally restored at 8:45 last night.
Time spent with God is never wasted time. God wants us to spend more time with Him. He wants to hear from us. He wants to know about our day. Even though He already knows, He still wants to hear from us. God loves hearing from His kids just like you like hearing from yours. It makes His day when you spend time with Him.
So I encourage you not to wait until you don’t have power or nothing better to do to talk to God. Make Him a priority. But I will say this. The nice cool church felt so good yesterday morning. The AC in my car even worked well.
Give God a call today. Talk to Him. He is waiting for your call.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
