Whose Report Will YOU Believe?

by | Jul 19, 2023 | Deception, Truth

“Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, ‘We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.’ But the men who had gone up with him said, ‘We can’t attack those people; they are stronger than we are.'”

(Numbers 13:30-31 NIV)

“Now, as Isaiah expressed it, ‘Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?'”

(Isaiah 53:1 NIV)

I was reading in the book of Numbers yesterday morning. I read where the Israelites went in to scout the land of Canaan. Twelve men went in. Ten came back with a bad report. Two gave a good report. They took the word of the ten instead of the two.

Now my question to you. Whose report will you believe? Will you believe God or the devil?

Let me tell you, God will never lead you astray but the devil will. The devil wants you to fail. He wants you in hell with him. Meanwhile, God wants you in heaven with Him.

Whose report will you believe?

I used to believe the lies of the devil. He would tell me I was never good enough, that my dad didn’t love me. But today I can tell you that my dad did in fact love me. He just didn’t know how to show it. I can see it in the things he did for me. He never hugged me or told me he loved me. But he did. How do I know this? God told me he did. One day, after my dad had gone home, I was having a rough time. I guess I was feeling guilty because I never told him I loved him. Then God answered my question: He did love me. He just wasn’t ever taught how to show love. So I decided to believe God’s report and not the devil’s.

That’s good advice for all of us. So whose report will you believe? When things are going wrong, will you believe the devil when he says that’s how it always happens? Or God’s when he says, “Trust in me. I have it under control.”

Have a great day.
