“To speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.”
(Titus 3:2 ESV)
“Finally, all of you have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.”
(1 Peter 3:8 ESV)
I think pretty much all of us were taught at a very young age to say please and thank you. It’s a good thing to practice. I know we tell others please, and thank you, but do you say it to God?
When God gives you something, do you thank Him? What about when you need something, do you say please God? It’s a good practice to start if you don’t say it already. I think, at least for me, it’s a good practice to politely ask God for what we need and then thank Him when He sends it. God wants to be asked politely just like all of us do.
He also likes to be thanked. After all, He didn’t have to give us anything.
God loves us unconditionally, but He still wants us to ask and thank Him. It’s just the right thing to do. Next time you are talking to God, thank Him for everything He does for you. If you can’t think of anything, how about the fact you woke up today. What about your health, finances, family, etc. There are always things you can thank God for.
And next time you need something, ask politely and say please. Just like human parents, our Heavenly Father is more likely to give it to you if you ask politely.
Have a blessed day, everyone.
