“As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:13 NIV)
“He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.” (Malachi 4:6 NIV)
God, in His infinite wisdom, gave us all fathers. Some are good, loving men, and some aren’t. God designed men to be the head of the household but to also be a loving husband and father.
God is a good example of a loving father. He loves each of us unconditionally. We can be the best person around or the biggest screw up. God loves us all the same. Except for me, of course, I am His favorite. All kidding aside, God loves us all the same.
God rejoices when we are doing good and cries when we aren’t. He wants us all to prosper and be happy. But when trouble comes, He will fight hard for us. He will stand beside us like a loving father should do. He will never leave us.
So on this Fathers Day, honor your father, but don’t forget your heavenly father too. Thank Him for loving you.
