“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day.”
(2 Corinthians 4:16 ESV)
“The glory of young men is their strength, but the splendor of old men is their gray hair.”
(Proverbs 20:29 ESV)
When I was younger, I thought 60 was old. Now that I am in the 60’s and getting really close to the 70’s, it’s not so old.
I was listening to the radio the other day. I heard the announcer say getting older is a gift. That got me to thinking. God has given me 66 years so far, soon to be 67. I don’t know how much longer I have, but each day is a gift from God to be used wisely. That brings me to a song I heard yesterday. It’s called “Commission” by Cain. Here is the chorus:
“Go tell the world about me.
Commission by Cain
I was dead but now I live.
I’ve gotta go now for a little while.
But goodbye is not the end.”
This song is about Jesus. He lived, He died and lives again. And all He wants is for us to tell the world about Him. Tell the world about Jesus. That’s not a hard job. Ok, sometimes it is because some people just don’t want to hear it. Some people don’t believe. They don’t understand that Jesus is the son of God. He lived, was crucified and died only to rise from the dead. Jesus wants us to spread the word about Him and salvation. He wants us to tell as many people that we can.
One of the verses:
“Don’t forget the things that I taught you.
Commission by Cain
I’ve conquered death and I hold the keys.
Where I go you will go too, someday.
But there’s much to do here before you leave.”
There is so much to do in a short amount of time. We need to turn off the TVs and start spreading the word. Tell the world that Jesus is coming soon, be prepared. My advice, enjoy your old age. A lot of people didn’t make it this far. And a lot more won’t make it this far. So don’t complain about your age, embrace it and spread the word, Jesus is coming soon.
Have a blessed day.
