“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” (Exodus 14:14 ESV)
“For the Lord your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.” (Deuteronomy 20:4 ESV)
When you go through a battle, who goes to fight for you? Do you go it alone, or do you run to God?
I am learning. When I go through a battle, I need to run God first thing.
But do I?
Not all the time. I think I can do it alone. I think that maybe I ask God for too much. Maybe He won’t rescue me again. But you know something, that’s God’s job. His job is to take care of His children. Since I am one of His children, it’s His job to take care of me.
There’s a song called “Battle Belongs” by Phil Wickham:
“So when I fight, I’ll fight on my knees.
With my hands lifted high.
Oh God, the battle belongs to You.
And every fear I lay at Your feet.
I’ll sing through the night.

When we go through battles, we are to fight them on our knees. We are to praise and thank God for the answers even though we don’t have them yet. God loves every one of us. He wants the very best for His children. So why don’t we have what He wants for us?
Me, I always thought I wasn’t good enough, pretty enough, skinny enough, didn’t have the latest and greatest whatever or enough money. God doesn’t care. He wants our hearts turned toward Him. Is that where your heart is? Or is it turned toward the world?
