“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.” (Proverbs 15:3 ESV)

“You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways.” (Psalm 139:2-3 ESV)

I will be 68 years old soon. I was thinking back on the years I spent growing up. Those were good years. We didn’t have a big fortune or fancy clothes or cars. In fact, my mom made most of my clothes. But we were loved. My brothers and I were talking about how we never went without. We had what we needed and most of what we wanted.

We all know now how mom scrimped and saved so she could give us a better life than she and dad had. My dad changed jobs frequently. It was a happy time. I would take off on my bike and maybe not go back home until almost dark. Mom didn’t worry about us because she knew we were ok. Mom loved God and would say a little prayer for us as we took off for the day. God took care of us. He still is. I can see mom at the throne asking God to watch over her kids. And He does.

Kids nowadays don’t have the freedom we had. There are too many predators out there waiting for a chance to take them. But God is still on the throne and will watch over your kids, no matter how old they are. God sees us and everything we do.

Parents, raise your children well. Love them and protect them. Children, love and obey your parents. They love you and usually know what’s best for you.

Have a great day, everyone.
