“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, ‘The Lord has done great things for them.’”
(Psalm 126:2 ESV)
“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter, and your lips with shouting.”
(Job 8:21 ESV)
I was reading Psalm 91 yesterday. I got to verse 12. “The angels will lift you up in their hands so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.” The thought crossed my mind about how many times I have broken a toe, usually the same one, on a piece of furniture. God told me He said a stone! Not furniture. I had a good laugh with God over that one. At least He didn’t call me a klutz.
You may not know it but God has a sense of humor. He even made sure each of us do too. So since God made us in His image, we should have the same emotions as He does. You may ask, does God get mad? Of course He does. Read the Bible. It talks about God’s anger toward evil and betrayal. But God is also happy. He delights in us. He loves us. He loves us when we prosper. He loves us when we are in poverty. He loves us when we act the fool and when we are compassionate towards others. God loves us regardless.
Regardless of what? Regardless of how we act or what we do, God loves us. Just ask for His forgiveness.
When you are sad, sick or struggling. Ask for God’s help. He is there waiting for your call. He won’t step in until we ask Him to. So ask. Don’t wait until you are stressed out. Ask. God was, is and always will be there for us. He wants us to prosper and be in good health. He wants us spreading the gospel.
So next time you need a good laugh, ask God to tell you a joke.
Have a great day everyone. And remember God loves you.
