“But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.’”

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
(Jeremiah 29:11 ESV)
I was watching something the other day and one of the characters said she wants people to see her how Jesus sees her. That got me to thinking. How does Jesus see me? Am I doing what I am supposed to be doing? Or am I on the wrong track? Do I want people to see me arrogant and foolish or living my life in service to God? Do I want people to see only the outward appearance? Or to look at my heart like Jesus does?
Jesus doesn’t care about our outward appearance. He looks at the condition of our heart. Are we kind or not? Are we loving and caring towards others or only out for what we can get?
All of these are valid questions and I suggest we all take a long, hard look at ourselves and decide. Jesus is coming back soon. We need to be ready. Are you ready? I am. I am looking forward to the day I leave this world and go home. This is my prayer: Jesus, look at my heart and change what needs to be changed. I want to live my life in service to you. Amen.
Think about those questions. Decide which applies to you. Change what needs to be changed.
