Family

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”

(Exodus 20:12 ESV)

“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”

(Proverbs 22:6 ESV)

Family was a great invention. God created families and put people together for a purpose.

My biological family has shrunk considerably but God gave me another family to love and who loves me. I wasn’t given the chance to have children. That is a great regret in my life. I wanted kids so badly. But God knew that I would not be bringing babies into the world so he gave me others to love. I have babysat since I was 10 years old. Most of the time it was fun. But there was always that 1 kid that could try even God’s patience. But I survived and learned a lot. And while I do not have biological kids, I have 3 lovely ladies who adopted me as mom.

Along with those 3 lovely ladies came 12 grandkids and 10 great grandkids with another on the way. I love when they come to see me and am excited about the new one on the way. My family has grown and I love everyone of them. But I have another family too. I have a church family who I love dearly. God moved me from a dying church to a spirit filled, very alive church. I have grown so much in this church. God knew it was what I needed in order to grow into the plan he has for me now. My heart has always been for kids, especially the ones who needed extra love. But, while I still have heart for them, God has moved me onto what I am doing now. This ministry has grown from just verses to short comments to what it is today. There are times when God has a lot to say and I run out of space.  Then other times, short and sweet and to the point. I love that God is using me this way.

So my small family has gone to a large loving one and I thank God for everyone of them. Have a great day everyone.
