“So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.” (1 John 4:16 ESV)
“And he said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” (Matthew 22:37-39 ESV)
“So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13 ESV)
I was on my way to church last night when the song “Ain’t Nobody” by Cody Carnes played. I was listening to it when Jesus butt into it and said, “Who loves ya baby?” Well that certainly got my attention, so I answered, “A lot of people love me.” His reply, “But nobody like me!”
I had to agree.
“Ain’t nobody love me like Jesus.
(Ain’t Nobody by Cody Carnes)
Ain’t nobody love me this good.
Ain’t nobody love me like Jesus.
And I know, I know nobody could.”
Who could love me like Jesus? He doesn’t care that I’m not perfect. He doesn’t care I don’t have a shapely figure or manicured fingers and toes. He loves me just as I am.
That goes for you too. He loves you just as you are. He doesn’t care about your outward appearance. He cares about your heart. Do you have a soft or a hard heart? Do you care about others or do you turn your nose up at those who might not be as good as you think you are? Jesus wants us to care for others. He wants his children out there saving souls. If your heart is hard, how can you connect with people you need to?
So ask yourself, “who loves ya baby?” Examine yourself, and if you are lacking in the love department, you might want to change it. Have a talk with Jesus and work on it together.
Have a great day.
