“A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: But the simple pass on, and are punished.” (Proverbs 22:3 KJV).
Dearly beloved and friends, this life is full of challenges and trials, but as children of God, our Redeemer is strong and is able to see us through; no matter how rough the routes.
God has however, given us wisdom to walk circumspectly not as fools but as wise in the midst of this perverse generation. (See Eph. 5:15)
— “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Peter 5:8 KJV).
— “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient” (Romans 1:28 KJV).
— “and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly;” (2 Peter 2:6 KJV).
Why do some children of God fall headlong into the pits of despair, error and calamities?
1. Disobedience to God and Human Pride: King Saul — He outrightly disobeyed God because of his arrogance and lost the throne of Israel forever (See 1 Samuel 15:26).
2. Lust of the eyes: King David — Lusted after Bathsheba and later killed the husband to cover up his sins. God punished him but forgave him when he genuinely repented (See 2 Samuel 12:13-14).
3. Worldliness and materialism: Achan — He was drawn by greed and he took of accursed things, he eventually perished with his family (See Joshua 7:25-26).
You: Flee every appearance of evil and ask for Holy Spirit to order your steps in life.
Main Prayer Point: In Jesus name, amen: Father, please hold my hands let me not fall into the pits of life. Amen.
Be Watchful and Prayerful
