Don’t Know What to Pray?

by | Mar 18, 2023 | Call to Prayer, Prayer

“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”
(Philippians 4:6 ESV)

Have you ever tried to pray and just couldn’t? Here’s an idea.

“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Amen.”

You can never go wrong with the Lord’s Prayer. When praying seems like walking through mud a foot deep, pray the Lord’s Prayer. Don’t just give up on praying, that won’t accomplish anything. Except make the devil happy. And you don’t want to do that.

There are more times than I like to admit that I have problems praying. But I keep trying. It may be a short prayer or it may be a good earnest prayer. God listens to them all. He wants us to pray, even if we do feel like we are walking through mud. So if you are having problems praying, don’t give up. Keep trying. It will get better.

Have a great day everyone.
