“He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed.” (Psalm 107:29 ESV)
“Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.” (Deuteronomy 31:6 ESV)
I looked at the weather warning on my phone yesterday afternoon. It was for a tornado watch. Seriously? It’s only February.
Storms come. But you don’t have to be afraid of them. Not if you have Jesus at your side.
There are all kinds of storms. I like the gentle spring rain type myself. But even those can turn into a seriously dangerous storm.
I used to be afraid of storms. But I outgrew my fear. I discovered that I can speak to the storm. It doesn’t matter if it’s a physical storm with thunder and lightning or a personal storm. Those I don’t like either. But I have Jesus here with me, fighting every step of the way.
No matter what kind of storm you are going through, Jesus is there for you. If you are hurt, sick, too much month at the end of your money or any other issue, Jesus is there for you. Just call on Him and ask Him for help. He will help you. He always does, but we have to leave the storm with Him and not snatch it back to fix ourselves. Jesus is waiting for us to realize that He wants to help. He wants to speak to our storms, “Peace be still.”
Let Jesus calm the storms of life. Let Him be the beacon shining in the darkness for you.
Have a blessed day.
