“Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.”
(James 5:13 ESV)
“Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.”
(Hebrews 13:15 ESV)
According to life.com praising means, “Praise, in the original Greek, means to sing, to tell of, to give, or to confess. In simpler terms, it means to be thankful for God’s blessings, and to declare that good news to God and to others.”
I have learned that praising God makes me feel better. It helps me to see things more clearly. I have learned to praise God in good times and especially in bad times. Why bad times? Shouldn’t I be on my knees begging for mercy? No! I should be thanking God for taking care of me even in bad times.
Confession time. I was diagnosed 6 weeks ago with covid. I got through when it first came out without any problems only to get it it now. It has kicked my butt. It has sidelined me from a lot of things. But I keep praising God. I keep claiming my healing. While I was not feeling well, a side effect of dizziness and weakness took me out. My cardiologist has taken me off all blood pressure medications to see if that stops the dizziness. Now to exercise my legs and get my strength back. But all through this nonsense, I kept praising God. I refuse to let the devil take me out. He has been trying but I am fighting back with praise.
I want to encourage you today to keep praising God no matter what the devil throws at you. Keep praising and thanking God for everything even if it hasn’t come yet. Don’t let the devil steal anything else. Keep praising God for everything.
Have a blessed day everyone.
