Never Enough

by | Sep 3, 2022 | Enough, Provision

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.”

(James 4:3 ESV)

“Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

(John 16:24 ESV)

I was watching the movie Moana yesterday. Ok, yes I like Disney cartoons, so shoot me.

The main character said “it was never enough.” That caught my attention enough I paused the movie. How many times do your prayers go, “God I want. God I need” and that’s all? When is enough enough for us? When do we become satisfied with what we have and start thanking God instead of asking for things.

I don’t mean to stop asking for healing or help in times of trouble or praying for others. I mean stop telling God you want this or that, whatever. Have we become so selfish towards our own needs that we don’t see the needs of others right in front of us? Do we turn a blind eye to others needs?

Our world is in trouble and all we do is tell God I want. We need to be on our knees for our country, for the world.

I feel very lucky. I have a roof over my head, food to eat, clothes to wear, family and friends who love, or tolerate me, and a car that runs. What else do I need? The only thing I really need is God. He needs to be front and center in our lives. Our world needs to revolve around Him instead of our wants and desires.

Let’s try to change that. Let’s put God back in our lives where He belongs.

Have a great day and remember, God loves you very much.
