I was reading a book called Faithfulness by Robert Strand. As I was reading I saw an old hymn he had put in. I don’t know the name but it’s by Thomas O. Chisholm:
“Great is Thy faithfulness,
Great Is Thy Faithfulness by Robert Strand
O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not,
Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been,
Thou forever wilt be.”
I started thinking about it. What does this verse have to do with faithfulness? It has everything to do with it. God is faithful all the time. He never changes His mind about us. God will follow through on all His promises to us.
Can you make that statement? I can’t. I try to follow through on a promise but I can’t always do it. But God does. If He makes you a promise you can count on it coming in. It just might not be in your timing.
That is better news than you might think. God will never go back on a promise. God never changes. He is the same as He was yesterday, today and He will be the same tomorrow. That you can trust.
There’s not many people you can trust in this world right now. But you can trust God.
So whatever is going on in your life, lay it at God’s feet and walk away. Trust Him to handle it. He has promised to take care of us. So let Him.
